How to get to your Boatsuite

From Schiphol you are at our front door in about 45 minutes: train to Amsterdam Centraal, bus 43 to Azartplein and a 7-minute walk along the quay. Whether you fly in, take the train or drive, here is the easiest way to reach Kadans on KNSM Island, step by step. Pick how you travel.

How do I get from Schiphol to KNSM Island?

  1. Train to Amsterdam CentraalTrains run very often from the station right below the airport.15–20 min

By car: where can I park?

Driving into Amsterdam is easy, parking less so. You have two options.

  • Paid from 9:00 to 24:00, free on Sundays
  • Pay with a parking app like EasyPark
  • Fines are handed out actively
ImportantKeep your P+R ticket. It is your discount.The P+R rate only applies when you show your public transport ticket at the pay machine on the way back. Lose it, or skip a step, and you pay the regular hourly parking rate.
  1. Take a parking ticket at the barrierDo not pay with your bank card at the entrance: that skips the P+R discount.
  2. Buy your P+R public transport ticketWithin 1 hour of parking, at the blue GVB machine. One per person, up to five per car. Your own OV-chipkaart works too.
  3. Check in and out on every rideOn the way to us and on the way back. Only bus, tram and metro count: no taxi, bike or walking.
  4. Pay at the P+R machine before you drive offInsert your parking ticket and scan your P+R public transport ticket, within 1 hour of your last check-out.

Electric car spots: only park there while you are actually charging. Otherwise your car can be towed away.

Is a taxi the easiest way?

With heavy luggage or a late flight, a taxi takes you to the quay in one go. Uber and Bolt are usually cheaper than a regular taxi.

Free ferries across the IJ

All GVB ferries are free, for you and your bike. The F1 leaves from our own island.

From our islandF1Azartplein → Noord (Zamenhofstraat)Right on our island, a few minutes from the boat. Every 20 minutes, daily 6:30 to 22:30.
F3Central Station → BuiksloterwegFor Eye Film Museum and A’DAM Lookout. Every few minutes, day and night.

When you arrive

Look for the bow of Kadans

Kadans is moored along the Levantkade: a 40-metre ship that runs all the way from the open water to the quay. Your Boatsuite is in the bow, right at the quay side. A staircase you share with us leads down to your own front door.

  2. Tram 1 runs straight to Artis, the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein. No transfers.
