Getting here

From Schiphol you are at our front door in about 45 minutes: train to Amsterdam Centraal, bus 43 to Azartplein and a 7-minute walk along the quay. Whether you fly in, take the train or drive, here is the easiest way to reach Kadans on KNSM Island, step by step. Pick how you travel.

## How do I get from Schiphol to KNSM Island?

1.  **Train to Amsterdam Centraal** Trains run very often from the station right below the airport. 15–20 min
2.  **Bus 43 to Azartplein** From the bus station at Central Station, get off at Azartplein. 11 min
3.  **Walk to the boat** Seven minutes along the quay to Levantkade 174. 7 min
4.  **Welcome aboard** Self check-in from 15:00. Arriving earlier? Ask us if we are home to take your bags, or use luggage storage at Central Station.

Total: about 45 minutes from the airport to your front door.

**Good to know**

-    Pay for trains, trams and buses by tapping your contactless bank card or phone in and out.
-    A taxi from Central Station takes 10–15 minutes. Our tip: [TCA Taxi](https://www.tcataxi.nl/), the local Amsterdam taxi company (+31 20 777 7777 or their app). Uber and Bolt are often cheaper.

## By train to Amsterdam Centraal

International and Dutch trains all arrive at Amsterdam Centraal. From there it is a short hop to the island.

Tram **Tram 26** 27 min

-   Get off at Rietlandpark
-   Includes a 15-minute walk
-   You pass a small shopping centre: handy for groceries for your mini fridge

## By car: where can I park?

Driving into Amsterdam is easy, parking less so. You have two options.

Our tip Cheapest **P+R Zeeburg II** €6 / 24 h

-   The closest Park + Ride to your Boatsuite
-   Weekdays arriving before 10:00: €13 for the first 24 hours
-   Park up to 4 days (24 hours at P+R RAI)
-   Continue by public transport, about 20 minutes
-   **Keep your P+R ticket: without it you pay the full rate**

Closest **Street parking on the island** €5.37 / hour

-   Levantkade and the whole island
-   Paid from 9:00 to 24:00, free on Sundays
-   Pay with a parking app like EasyPark
-   Fines are handed out actively

Important **Keep your P+R ticket. It is your discount.** The P+R rate only applies when you show your public transport ticket at the pay machine on the way back. Lose it, or skip a step, and you pay the regular hourly parking rate.

1.   **Take a parking ticket at the barrier** Do not pay with your bank card at the entrance: that skips the P+R discount.
2.   **Buy your P+R public transport ticket** Within 1 hour of parking, at the blue GVB machine. One per person, up to five per car. Your own OV-chipkaart works too.
3.   **Check in and out on every ride** On the way to us and on the way back. Only bus, tram and metro count: no taxi, bike or walking.
4.   **Pay at the P+R machine before you drive off** Insert your parking ticket and scan your P+R public transport ticket, within 1 hour of your last check-out.

**Electric car spots:** only park there while you are actually charging. Otherwise your car can be towed away.

**Our advice**

-    Staying more than a few hours? P+R Zeeburg II saves you a lot.
-    P+R full? There are other P+R locations around the city.

## Is a taxi the easiest way?

With heavy luggage or a late flight, a taxi takes you to the quay in one go. Uber and Bolt are usually cheaper than a regular taxi.

## From Amsterdam Centraal

1.  **Bus 43 from Central Station** Get off at Azartplein on KNSM Island. 11 min
2.  **Walk to Levantkade 174** A 7-minute walk along the quay to Kadans. 7 min
3.  **Your own front door** Down the staircase to your own front door. Self check-in from 15:00. home

**Already in town?**

-    Tram 1 and bus 43 stop at Azartplein, a 7-minute walk from the boat.
-    Tram 26 stops at Rietlandpark, a 15-minute walk.
-    Bus 65 leaves from Levantplein, right by the boat, to Amstel Station: handy for the [Johan Cruijff ArenA](https://amsterdambb.com/en/bnb-johan-cruijff-arena-amsterdam) and [Ziggo Dome](https://amsterdambb.com/en/bnb-ziggo-dome-amsterdam).
-    At night, bus N89 stops close to the boat.
-    The free F1 ferry takes you from the island to Noord.
-    Shared e-scooters from Check and Felyx: register in their app first, with your driving licence.

### Free ferries across the IJ

All GVB ferries are free, for you and your bike. The F1 leaves from our own island.

From our island **F1** **Azartplein → Noord (Zamenhofstraat)** Right on our island, a few minutes from the boat. Every 20 minutes, daily 6:30 to 22:30.

**F3** **Central Station → Buiksloterweg** For Eye Film Museum and A’DAM Lookout. Every few minutes, day and night.

**F4** **Central Station → NDSM** For NDSM, STRAAT Museum and the IJ-Hallen. Until 2:00, Fri and Sat until 3:30.

**F2** **Central Station (De Ruijterkade) → IJplein** A short hop to the green IJplein neighbourhood in Noord.

## Look for the bow of Kadans

Kadans is moored along the Levantkade: a 40-metre ship that runs all the way from the open water to the quay. Your [Boatsuite](https://amsterdambb.com/en/the-boatsuite) is in the bow, right at the quay side. A staircase you share with us leads down to your own front door.
